Ironman Barcelona wasn’t the only Spanish race affected by high winds and waves on the weekend – organizers at Challenge Salou had to cancel the swim and substitute a 5 km run because of the tough water conditions at the race in Catalonia. That didn’t dampen the excitement, though, as 2012 Olympic silver medalist Lisa Norden made up for getting lost at the Challenge Championship in August and took a resounding win, while American Collin Chartier had an emotional win as he dedicated the victory to his sick grandfather back home in the US.
