We don’t have too many details as official results still aren’t available, but we do know that it was a big day for Canadian athletes at today’s Americas Triathlon in St. George, Utah with silver medal performances from both Charles Paquet and Dominika Jamnicky.
In the men’s race Paquet was a close second behind Mexico’s Irving Perez, with American Brent Demarest rounding out the podium. Canadian Russell Pennock took ninth.

American Gina Sereno took the women’s race, with Jamnicky finishing second and Mexico’s Sara Roel rounding out the podium.

Gupta-Baltazar takes NCAA qualifier
Canadian junior Kira Gupta-Baltazar took the sprint-distance NCAA event in St. George – tomorrow she heads off to compete at next weekend’s junior world championships in Portugal and then heads back to Tempe, Arizona for the NCAA National Championships on Nov. 13th.
Gupta-Baltazar beat her University of San Francisco teammate Gillian Cridge (USA) to the line, with another American, Freya McKinley, from the University of Denver rounding out the podium. Another Canadian, Arizona State University’s Alex Coursol, took fourth.
