Time to celebrate – pictures from Ironman Chattanooga

It wasn’t easy (winning an Ironman never is), but based on the year Angela Naeth has had, one would hardly expect it would be. We outlined some of the challenges Naeth has gone through over the last two years in our recap of her big win in Chattanooga on the weekend (click here to read that story) – but she added some more details in an Instagram post today.

Racing as a women has its ups and downs. There’s been a lot of buzz on the female athlete lately – how to train and work with your cycle. // It is true, I’m more powerful, stronger and feel better when I’m not premenstrual. BUT, you can race (and do well!) when you are in the midst of it! Chattanooga Ironman was just that! // Eat the right nutrients, calories, hydrate, and focus your mindset. It’s not my favorite way to race, but it’s who I am, and damn proud of what we, as women accomplish! // My bio has a link to an article I wrote earlier this year on working with your cycle. // I had a rough go on the run from GI issues that I always get premenstrual (which yes, included the worse while running!), heat tolerance is more difficult, mentally harder, and I’m more tired – etc. // I’m a woman, and hell yes #iracelikeagirl – we showcase what it means to inspire the youth, and our inner self. // FYI team @iracelikeagirl membership is now open!
