We all knew she was a phenomenal cyclist, but now the cycling community will figure that out, too. Yesterday Canadian Olympian and half-distance specialist Paula Findlay returned to her hometown, Edmonton, to take the Canadian National Time Trial Championships.
“I absoltuely LOVED riding as hard as I could without swimming before or running after,” Findlay wrote on Instagram after the race. And, she is quick to point out she is “not contemplating a career change, but it was so much fun (and painful).”

Findlay would take the 32 km race by 39 seconds. She was on a slightly different Specialized Shiv than she normally uses for triathlons as she had to ride a UCI legal bike.

Findlay joins some heady company on the Olympic triathlete/ national time trial champion front. Olympic silver medalist Lisa Norden has won the Swedish national time trial championships many times and also took the national road title in 2019.
