After a close call getting her bike, triathlon star takes third straight national time-trial title

Canadian Olympian and 70.3 silver medalist Paula Findlay just took her third-straight national time trial championship, despite not getting her bike until hours before the race. After a stressful two and a half days chasing down her Specialized Shiv that hadn’t made it on the plane with her to Montreal, Findlay finally reunited with her bike last night and drove the four hours to Saint-Georges, Quebec.

Findlay won today’s 28 km event in 39:24.7, crossing the line 24 seconds ahead of Olivia Baril and 27 seconds up on the bronze medalist, Sarah Van Dam.

Paula Findlay takes National Time Trial Championship for second straight year

Earlier this year America Taylor Knibb won the American National TT Championships, earning herself a spot on the American cycling Olympic squad – she’ll compete in both the time trial and the triathlon in Paris.

Triathlon star shocks cycling world with big win at US National Time Trial Championships

Findlay will now make her way to Ironman 70.3 Mont-Tremblant where she’ll take on a large pro field for this weekend’s ninth race in the Ironman Pro Series.
