For the third straight year Amazon will be the official partner of the Kids Day at the Boston Triathlon. Amazon’s sponsorship means that the registration for the Kids Day, Saturday, Aug. 17, 2024, is free. Registration information about the event can be found here. The events include:
- Kids Fun Run, Ages 1-7: 100-yard run
- Kids Splash & Dash, Ages 11-15: 200-yard swim, 2 km run
- Kids Splash & Dash, Ages 7-10: 100-yard swim, 1km run
“One of the pillars of our event is ensuring the triathlon experience is accessible to all, so we are excited to work with Amazon once again to make Kids Day at the Boston Triathlon free for all kids who want to take part,” said Michael O’Neil, president of the Boston Triathlon. “Kids from around the region who want to get outside to run and swim in South Boston will continue to have the opportunity to participate thanks to Amazon’s generous support.”
Earlier this year it was announced that the Boston event had been acquired by supertri and will host many of the world’s top short-course athletes in the first of two American stops (along with Chicago) as part of the five race supertri League. In addition to the elite event, the race also includes age group sprint and Olympic distance races.

The Boston Triathlon starts and finishes at DCR Carson Beach and has been running since 2009. In 2012 Mike O’Neill, a long-time triathlon agent, and Will Thomas took over the event, adding the Olympic distance race to the mix.
